New design

As you can see, I’ve updated the blog with a new design. I was getting bored with the other one, and I stumbled upon this one and really liked it. I’ve been using most of the day customizing it, mainly fiddling with the CSS.

Quotes look almost the same.

I changed the styles for links a little bit though.

What do you think?

Denmark is ftw, now with scientific proof

The Economist Intelligence Unit (which I have no idea what is) has created a list of the cities with the best “liveability”, in the world. A score of 0% means the inhabitants have an exceptional quality of life and 100% means the conditions are intolerable. Factors such as crime rate, threats from terrorism and highly developed transport and communication infrastructure have been taken into consideration. Vancouver, Canada, is no. 1 with a score of 1.3%, and guess what; our own Copenhagen got a score of 3.7%, earning it a 8th place on the list!

I also stumbled upon another interesting article about the least religious countries, Scandinavian countries top the list and I was very happy to realize that Denmark is on the 3rd place. A part of the article states the following:

“high levels of organic atheism are strongly correlated with high levels of societal health, such as low homicide rates, low poverty rates, low infant mortality rates, and low illiteracy rates, as well as high levels of educational attainment, per capita income, and gender equality. Most nations characterized by high degrees of individual and societal security have the highest rates of organic atheism, and conversely, nations characterized by low degrees of individual and societal security have the lowest rates of organic atheism.”

Which is even more obvious when compared to the first article. All hail Denmark.

Testing blogging with Word 2007

If this works like it’s supposed to, I’ll probably start blogging with Word 2007, instead of the standard WYSIWYG Editor in WordPress, because the interface is sweet! It’s especially got one cool feature; if you press the Windows button and “S” you can take a clipping of whatever is on the screen and paste it directly into the entry. It even uploads the picture to my homepage automatically.

Would you survive a zombie apocalypse? (and more…)

The internet is filled with stupid tests, but I finally found a website with some proper ones, and I though I'd give you an opportunity to try them out, as well as get to know me a little better. ;)

I would kinda suck if I ran into a ravaging horde of zombies:

My corpse is worth 4,425$… Yay?

I'm a bit of a geek.

Approx. 60 to go…

Almost didn't pass. :(

IM with X360 is a pain in the ass

The Xbox 360 Spring Update is here, and with it comes instant messaging in the form of Windows Live Messenger. Naturally I wanted to try it out, so I clicked on the new ‘Chat and IM’ tab, which then prompted me to enter my password, that’s when I realized I was using two different Windows Live IDs for Xbox Live and Windows Live Messenger. And it’s not like I don’t want to use the same ID, but here’s why Microsoft wouldn’t let me: When I bought the console I was already using my Messenger ID (fookhar [at] gmail.com) and therefore I wanted to use this ID with my Xbox, but if you use existing IDs you can’t use the free month of Xbox Live Gold that comes with the console, which meant I had to create a new ID (marcus.mattsson [at] gmail.com), I even called the support center, no help there either.

Now, when I want to use the integrated Windows Live Messenger client in Xbox 360 I must use marcus.mattsson [at] gmail.com because it’s locked to my Xbox 360 account, which means I have to transfer all my Messenger-contacts to this ID (a feature that doesn’t seem to work very well at the moment) or use fookhar [at] gmail.com with my Xbox 360 which means I lose all contacts on my friends list, achievements, etc.

Smart move MicroSoft, why the hell can’t I just be allowed to sign in to Messenger on the 360 with whatever ID I want? Jeez. Well, all this doesn’t matter much to me at the moment anyway, since my 360 has started freezing few seconds after I’ve loaded savegames. Feck.
