Kevin Smith to direct Heroes episode

At this year’s Comic-Con Kevin Smith was announced as a director for one of the episodes of Heroes: Origin, the spin-off series of Heroes. I’ve been watching Heroes, and it’s pretty cool, and I like Kevin Smith, so I think this is great news. Also because he’s a comic geek, anyway here’s the announcement, it’s worth a watch just because of the crowds cheering.

I’ve also just ordered Smith’s two Q&A sessions called An Evening with Kevin Smith and An Evening with Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder (6£ each), Smith has a real talent for telling stories and I’ve been watching some clips from these sessions on YouTube for a while, and it’s really funny.

Live Free or Die Hard interview

I usually don't care much about movie-related interviews, way too often it's just a bunch of actors complementing one and other, even though we know it's probably fake. Though, when I hear about an interview about Die Hard with Bruce Willis and Kevin Smith I have to watch it. It's not that long, you see some cool scenes from the movie and they talk a bit about Willis posting on AintItCoolNews.com, and then proving his identity to the other users by inviting one of them to a video chat, I've seen the screenshots from it, but I wasn't sure it was actually him before seeing this.

More Kevin Smith: SModcast

If you’ve been reading this blog you may know I like movie director Kevin Smith, not his movies so much (although Dogma is sweet!), but his Q&A sessions. He is incredible at making average stories really funny and really interesting. Now he’s started a podcast with friend and producer Scott Mosier, it’s called SModcast, and it’s actually very interesting. They talk about day to day stuff and old stories from back in the day and as mentioned Smith makes all stories worth listening to. So far there are nine episode, go listen!

Sucks Less with Kevin Smith

I for one love Kevin Smith. His movies are great and all, but I mostly like him because of his great storytelling talent, which is a kind of stand-up comedy implemented in interesting stories, this can be enjoyed in An Evening with Kevin Smith (and the upcoming sequel An Evening with Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder), which are compilations of Q&A sessions at various colleges in the USA.

Some of the sessions can be watched on YouTube.

Now he has created a new show, on mtvU, a part of the mtv tv-network, dedicated to the American college students. The show is called Suck Less with Kevin Smith and features Kevin Smith presenting various clips about events college students can enjoy. The clips themselves are narrated and edited by students at UCLA (University of California). The show can be watched online, and so far two episodes have been released. Being a kind of experimental show, it's not quite as funny as Kevin Smith's usual projects, but still worth a watch.
